WAPU Board Accept the State Government’s Third Offer to Replace the Western Australian Industrial Agreement

13 December 2024 – The WA Police Union of Workers (WAPU) Board today voted to accept the State Government’s third offer to replace the current Western Australian Police Officer Industrial Agreement. This decision follows a formal ballot, in which the majority vote supported the proposal. After careful consideration, the Board determined that accepting the offer was in the best interests of WA Police.

While this offer has been accepted, the WA Police Union remains unwavering in its commitment to advocating for the improvement of working conditions for WA Police. The attraction and retention of Police Officers continue to be a top priority for the Union, as it works to ensure that WA Police are equipped to maintain the safety and security of our community.

WAPU acknowledges that this agreement is a step forward but emphasises that ongoing dialogue with the State Government will be essential to address the evolving needs of WA Police Officers.

Dave Flaherty, WAPU President is available via phone for comment and a press conference will be held at WAPU Office at 9:30am Monday, 16 December 2024.
